Q. Do you count the score at the moment your team gets 500 and wins? A. You can count any score you can get a screenshot of...so if you win 504 to 100 then it goes up to 511 to 100, then 511 it is!
Q. Can I use a screenshot from an Alliance Battle last month? A. No, only screenshots from battles fought between when the contest started on Monday and before it ends on Saturday should be posted. |

Basin Board Upgrade
Posted by
ceolstan on Feb. 16th, 2008 - 7:40 AM |
All the Basin boards have been updated to the most recent version of Invision Power Board. The new software's been installed. To congratulate and thank our tech team, feel free to post here. To report issues with broken tags, please report those bugs here. Posting bugs requires registering on the Main Forums, also know as "blue" as a result of the color of the skins, though right now with the default look, all of our boards look the same! If you aren't yet registered over there, you should be. There are a lot of forums devoted to different games. It's a bit of a watering hole for all Basiners in all the sponsored games, and it provides a nice place for Basiners who are playing a variety of other games with Basiners, but not to the degree of the sponsored games, to hang out. There are also blogs and, I believe, a gallery. Yes, you get a lot of nice stuff over there!
Anyway, it'll be a bit before the dust settles. In the meantime, enjoy our Altrumm Ruins Challenge Mission Contest, our Screenshot Contest, and the upcoming Alliance Battle Bonanza. This weekend, we'll have our usual offering of PvP and PvE. Come join us! |

Basin Alliance Breaks 4 Million Kurzick
Posted by
ceolstan on Feb. 3rd, 2008 - 8:31 AM |
After the news got out that we held Breaker Hollow for few hours on Saturday morning GMT (around midnight EST), Alliance Battles, Fast Faction Farming, and Vanquishing went into overtime as we pushed the Kurzick Faction up to 3.9 million just before the nightly decay hit.
Within 12 hours, we had regained our lost Kurzick Faction and then some. We broke the 4 million mark on Sunday, just before noon, GMT (7am EST).
What a great push! Go Team!

We break Three Point Five Million Kurzick Faction
Posted by
ceolstan on Feb. 1st, 2008 - 7:20 AM |
As of 7am EST/noon GMT/11pm AUS, the Basin Alliance had 3,503,114 Kurzick faction! The numbers keep going up and up, with each day inching us closer to our goal. The Alliance Battles, the HFFF, the vanquishing runs, the farming of challenge missions--it all adds up!
This is truly a group effort. It's heartwarming to see the very many people who've spent so much time bringing us closer to our goal.
What a great team!

Basin Alliance Breaks the 3 Million Mark
Posted by
ceolstan on Jan. 27th, 2008 - 6:33 PM |
The Basin Alliance broke the Three Million Kurzick Faction mark just before the daily Alliance Faction decay hit.
Folks, this is unprecedented. Getting to 3,000,000 Kurzick faction is a huge push for the guild. Thanks to everyone here who ran Alliance Battles (and we beat the Luxons even on their own maps!), Fast Faction Farming, and Jade Quarry/Fort Aspenwood.
This was a weekend of amazing effort on the part of so many!
Thank you all!

Basin Alliance Breaks 2.5 Million Mark
Posted by
ceolstan on Jan. 26th, 2008 - 3:04 PM |
Great news!!!
The Basin Alliance has pushed past the 2.5 million Kurzick faction mark! This occurred around noon EST (5pm GMT). Despite the 10% Faction decay each day, the efforts of everyone have been paying off.
A lot of people are working very hard to pull this off.

The Basin Alliance Breaks the 2 Million Mark!
Posted by
ceolstan on Jan. 21st, 2008 - 6:23 PM |
The Basin Alliance hit the 2 million Kurzick Faction mark today, shortly before the 7pm EST faction decay mark. Reaching 2 million has taken a lot of effort from a lot of people. Besides those of you staying up way too late at night or getting up way too early in the morning to do your Fast Faction Farming, there are others of you playing many, many Alliance Battles.
In fact, on Sunday, January 20, we had 3 teams of Basiners in Alliance Battles--once even managing to synch enter all 3 teams on the battlefield at the same time!
This has been a great push!
Go Team!
Chaaaarge!

Amazon Basin breaks 1.5 million
Posted by
ceolstan on Jan. 18th, 2008 - 7:31 AM |
Jayling reports that the AB Alliance hit the 1.5 million mark in Kurzick faction at about 3am EST (8am GMT/9am CET) on Friday, January 18.
This is a huge surge, as it takes more and more effort to get more Alliance faction. For example, on January 17 at about 5pm EST, the Alliance stood at 1,479,000. About 1.5 hours later, the Alliance was at 1,399,000. This shows the amount of Faction decay.
Well done to those online who saw the opportunity for the push:Rue Myst Dustbunny Ancient 1 And to all the rest of you who helped push us over! You folks are doing a great job! --ceolstan |

Amazon Basin hits 1 million Kurzick Faction
Posted by
ceolstan on Jan. 13th, 2008 - 11:11 PM |
The Basin Alliance hit 1 million Kurzick Faction for the first time in over 9 months! And hat was better was that we hit it twice! We saw the hit to the totals due to Faction decay, but our intrepid members rushed to make up the difference!
Thanks to Pooka's diligence in getting everyone gung-ho to contribute Kurzick faction toward the Alliance (and we get titles and stuff), we're starting to see some excellent progress in our quest to make our mark on the Factions map.
A big thanks to everyone who did challenge missions, Fast Faction Farming, Jade Quarry/Fort Aspenwood, Alliance Battles, and Vanquish runs. It's paying off!
Show your group's effort by posting a picture in MammonLord's Guild Wars Gallery. Let's get a chance to recognize everyone's hard work!
Go Team!!!

Amazon Basin Fundraising Time
Posted by
ceolstan on Oct. 28th, 2007 - 9:10 AM |
From time to time, we will ask those in our community who are in a position to do so to donate funds to the Amazon Basin. Our founder, TPJ, has just announced on our Main Forums that we once more need to have a community drive to keep the servers that support our community up and running.
Here are TPJ's own words:
Our last server fund drive was in early 2006. It kept us going for almost 2 years! I can't thank you folks enough for that. I understand we held another one about a year ago for a (close to) destitute ABM - and asking you again so soon wasn't my plan. I hope everyone understands.
Right now, the best way to help is with a donation through PayPal. I am working on getting our BasinWear site back up and running, so I should have that ready in the next few days. Once it is up, you can use it to purchase 1337 items like cracked sashes and mongolian pr0n. Heck, you can even purchase a sweet embroidered polo or Basin mouse pad!
If you are in a financial position to help us, please visit our donation page. If you'd rather not go the subscription route (on that page), you can just use the single 'PayPal Donate' button below that row of 'subscription' icons. I'll have the BasinWear site up soon, so if you'd rather use it, just hang in there please.
Thanks everyone.
Once more, if you're in a position to help, every little bit counts!
Thank you all very much!

AB Nation Community Newsletter #2
Posted by
ceolstan on Apr. 10th, 2007 - 8:03 PM |
The AB Nation Community Newsletter has hit the stands once more! Once again, erinye has taken up the editor's role to bring together the news from around the Basin nation.
This edition features the considerable talents of our very own Arhurt, who made the layout possible, and our newest Basin Member, geocurt, who provided a very nice write-up of the Mission Possible: Tyria gatherings.
Thanks to everyone who was involved in the project, from gathering the news to providing the screenshots, from writing copy to laying it out. And a special thanks to the community here, whose efforts and activities help provide us all with excellent online adventures!
Cheers!
