PotBS is an upcoming MMO from [[http://www.flyinglab.com/|Flying Lab Software]] distributed by [[http://www.station.sony.com/|Sony Online Entertainment]]. It is currently in open beta testing.

PotBS takes place in a non-specific time period (est. 1707) in the Caribbean. Players choose one of 3 nations to play, or may play pirates without a nation. [[PotBS_French|French]], [[PotBS_Spanish|Spanish]], and [[PotBS_English|English]] players further choose a class to play. Available classes are [[PotBS_NO|Naval Officer]], [[PotBS_Pr|Privateer]], and [[PotBS_FT|Free Trader]]. [[PotBS_Pirate_Nation|Pirates]] have their own class, also called [[PotBS_Pirate_Class|pirate]].

The game includes both a robust sea combat system, as well as a rudimentary swashbuckling combat system (which hopefully will see more robustness by, or soon after, release). In addition, the trade and crafting system is complex and deep, allowing for an entirely player run economy.
