Diablo II Notation Basic Class Skill Item Ally Quest Area Monster Tale Amazon Assassin Barbarian Druid Necro Paladin Sorceress Warlock Diablo II began with five classes: the Amazon, Barbarian, Necromancer, Paladin and Sorceress. Lord of Destruction expansion added two more: the Assassin and Druid. Reign of the Warlock expansion added one more: the Warlock. Each class has 3 unique skill trees with 10 skills each, as well as class-specific items and bonuses. Level Player characters begin their adventure at Level 1, starting in Rogue Encampment, and gain levels by slaying monsters located across various areas outside town. Player character Level (clvl or cLvl) serves a multitude of purposes throughout the game, including, but not limited to: Calculating chance to hit for any attack that requires a successful hit check to apply damage. Calculating chance to block a successful enemy attack while equipping a shield in Expansion games. Unlocking new skills and assigning additional skill points to already known skills. Meeting requirements to equip items (or benefit from charms located in player inventory in Expansion games).
