Strength is often needed by player character and mercenary to meet requirements for equipping armor and weapons, and applies a +% Damage bonus to physical attack damage when the following item types are used as weapons:
+% Damage = [Strength * Bonus/100]
Player character Strength varies depending on chosen class at start of game:
Player character can increase Strength by allocating attribute points, while player character, mercenary and pets can also gain bonuses from equipped items, and charms in inventory in Expansion games. Typically, a character only needs enough Strength to meet item requirements, although more experienced players with better equipped characters applying physical attack damage may allocate more points if it increases that damage, usually at the expense of Vitality.
