Throughout its history, Diablo II has been patched to fix bugs, introduce improvements, adjust game balance and add content. Patches are automatically downloaded and installed when connecting to Battle.net, so players are always playing the latest patch. Unlike legacy D2, it is not possible to downgrade D2R to any of the older patch.
