Diablo II is an action role-playing game, the sequel to the highly popular Diablo (1996). Blizzard North released Classic Diablo II (1.0) on 29 June 2000, and the Lord of Destruction expansion (1.07) a year to the day later on 29 June 2001. While the expansion added significant content, there were also several major patches (notably 1.09, 1.10 and 1.13) adding items and altering game balance and mechanics, which brought a new feel. All updates are via the free Battle.net on-line gaming service.
