Diablo II is an action role-playing game, the sequel to the highly popular Diablo (1996). Blizzard North released classic Diablo 2 (1.0) on 29 June 2000, and the Lord of Destruction expansion (1.07) a year to the day later on 29 June 2001. While the expansion added significant content, there were also several major patches (notably 1.09, 1.10, 1.11 and 1.13) adding content and altering game balance and mechanics. All updates are via the free Battle.net on-line gaming service.

Unless stated otherwise, all content is for Single Player and Ladder games of Diablo II: Lord of Destruction 1.14d and is intended to supplement the manual and the Arreat Summit (AS). Anything quoted directly from the game, manual or AS (typically dialog and lore) will be in gold text.
