The Mage Clan Wars brought forth many bizarre devices and organisms devised to defeat rival sorcerers. The surest way to halt the magic of an enemy spellcaster was to eliminate his source of power by draining away his personal reserves of mana. Although this overwhelming ability ordinarily requires the use of a focus, a group of ingenious mages constructed a creature that had this as an innate talent. After the Wars ended, these Finger Mages were left to starve and die by those that had created them.
