Welcome.
A few things to consider:
Representing
As a new Guild Wars 2 AB guild member please remember to represent the guild. No, not in the social form, where you're polite and show class while having fun. In the game mechanic sense, where you go to the Guild Menu and hit the represent button on the bottom.
Without representing, your character won't display the guild tags and also you won't be able to to hear the guild chat channel. So if you're part of the guild and only hear crickets in the guild chat, check your represent setting.
