Inner Sight

  • Inner Sight illuminates hostile units within its radius, and reduces their defense.

  • IS is applied to all targets within a 13 1/3 yard radius of the caster.
  • - Defense is applied after the Stone Skin modifier doubles a Unique monster's defense. [1] Defense cannot be reduced below zero.
  • If an equal or higher level IS is cast upon a target, the duration and - Defense of the latest cast will be applied. Lower level IS won't overwrite higher level IS. [2]
  • IS doesn't conflict with Slow Missiles or Curses: all three can be applied at the same time.


Critical Strike

  • Critical Strike grants a chance to double physical weapon damage.

  • A successful CS doubles physical weapon damage. Since conversion of physical damage to another damage type occurs after CS is applied, it can also double the converted damage of Magic, Fire and Cold Arrow, Lightning Bolt, Fists of Fire and Berserk (both the skill itself and its synergy to Concentrate and Frenzy).
  • CS doesn't apply to Impale, Dragon Talon, Tail or Flight, Sacrifice or Smite.
  • CS and Deadly Strike are mutually exclusive: if CS is successful there is no DS, and vice versa. The combined % chance of doubling physical weapon damage is 100-((100-CS)*(100-DS)/100).


Dodge

  • Dodge grants a chance to dodge mêlée attacks while attacking, casting or standing still.

  • Dodge animation lasts 8 frames (0.32 second) and may interrupt attacking and casting. [3] This animation length cannot be modified in any way.


Slow Missiles

  • Slow Missiles illuminates hostile units within its radius, and reduces the velocity of any missiles they fire.

  • SM is applied to all targets within a 13 1/3 yard radius of the Amazon.

Penetrate

  • Penetrate improves chance-to-hit of all weapon attacks.

  • {{{}}} Blessed Aim overwrites Penetrate, regardless of level: if level 1 BA (+75% AR) is applied to an Amazon with level 20 Penetrate (+225% AR), only +75% AR will be applied to that Amazon's attacks from those two sources, not +300% AR (this doesn't affect +% AR from other sources, though).


Decoy

  • Decoy is a duplicate image of the Amazon, summoned to distract (but unable to attack) hostile units.

  • Base life is 50% of the character's maximum total life at the point of casting i.e. that displayed by the character screen, after all modifiers have been applied (rounding down only occurs after Decoy's +% Life is applied). [5] For example, a level 1 Decoy (+10% Life) cast by an Amazon with 125 maximum Life will have 68 ([125*0.5*1.1]) base Life, even if the Amazon only has 10 Life at the point of casting.
  • Decoy's +% Life is multiplicative with +% Life from other sources: Decoy's +% Life is applied first, then +% Life from Battle Orders and Oak Sage is applied. [6]
  • Defense for the relevant level and difficulty from MonLvl.txt is added to base defense before +% Enhanced Defense from Shout and Defiance is applied. [7]
  • 0% drain effectiveness and -50 chill effectiveness in all difficulty levels.
  • {{{}}} While level 25+ costs 1 mana, level 27+ can be cast with no mana.
  • Knockback from items has 50% chance of being applied.
  • Dispelled whenever the Amazon recasts it or uses portals, way-points or Teleport.


Evade

  • Gets Critical Strike, Dodge, Avoid and Evade equal to the Amazon's base skill level of those skills.
  • Equips various items depending on skill level: when calculating their affix level, item level (ilvl) = min(22+(3*lvl),99).

  • + Life from items is applied after +% Life from Valkyrie and Decoy but before +% Life from Battle Orders and Oak Sage is applied.
  • {{{}}} The skill description displays +25% Enhanced Damage less than is actually applied for level 2+ Valkyrie.
  • +% Enhanced Damage is from + Strength, so it's added to other sources of +% Enhanced Damage like Might. Damage is calculated based on weapon damage in the same way as it is for players and hirelings.
  • Crit 5% and CS are not mutually exclusive: the % combined chance of doubling physical damage is 95-(90*CS/100), while the % chance of quadrupling physical damage is 5*CS/100.
  • Range 1-3 when attacking Size 1-3 monsters.
  • 6 frame AI Delay in all difficulties, lengthening the interval between consecutive attacks.
  • Attack rate can be increased by Fanaticism, and Increased Attack Speed suffixes on her weapon and gloves (up to 60 IAS combined).

  • AR and defense of items are added to base AR and defense before +% AR (the sum of +% AR from her items and other sources) and +% Enhanced Defense are applied (Valkyrie's +% Enhanced Defense is added to that of Shout and Defiance).
  • Resist +% from item affixes can result in a Valkyrie becoming immune to fire, lightning, cold and poison (although these immunities won't be displayed).

Pierce

  • Pierce grants a chance for missiles from weapons to pierce targets.

  • Arrows, bolts, javelins and throwing axes and knives can pierce whenever a hit-check is successful or skipped (auto-hit). Subsequent blocking of the missile will prevent it applying its damage and modifiers to that target, but won't prevent it from piercing. The missile can pierce a maximum of four times, allowing it to hit up to five targets.
  • Piercing Attack from items is added to the skill's chance to pierce.
  • {{{}}} If a hit-check is unsuccessful but piercing is successful, the missile may appear to pierce its target and even apply graphical effects, but it does not actually do so: damage and modifiers aren't applied to subsequent targets.
