Using Poisons

- Go to your abilities list, you'll see a new Poisons icon. It works like any other tradeskill, open it up and you'll see Instant Poison there.
- All poison components are sold off merchants, so find your nearest Shady Dealer and purchase the components you need. At first you will only have Instant Poison, which requires Empty Vials and Dust of Decay. Make some.
- To apply right click the vial of poison, then click on one of your weapons.
- At level 20 you may also purchase, for 23 silver, the recipe for Crippling Poison from your local Rogue trainer. Very useful in PvP and also against mobs that like to run away.

Alliance Poison Quest Walkthrough (SPOILER!)

The Alliance poison quest begins at level 20 with Matthias Shaw, SI:7 director in the rogue guildhouse of Stormwind - second floor. He will direct you to Kearnan, another SI:7 operative, staking out a tower on the Duskwood-Westfall border. To get there head southeast of Sentinel Hill, when you find a tower guarded by undead - you're there. Kearnan is hiding north of the tower in some trees by the river. She will give you her journal and the quest to get Kravens Journal. Read the journal to get more information, here are the steps you need to do:

- The spikey haired undead 'Malformed Defias Drone' that patrols the outer perimeter has the key to the lockbox upstairs. You must pick his pocket for the key. He roams around in a circle and stops every so often. Sneak up behind him and get the key. If he dosen't have it then it means someone has pickpocketed him already, you'll have to kill him and try again after he respawns. He hits very hard so you'll probably need help.

- After you have the key, make your way inside and up to the top of the tower. You can one-hit-kill the lone Patrollers by stealthing behind them and Ambushing them. Do this for the first and second level of the tower. This information is discussed in detail in Kearnans journal, they are weak to rogue abilities.

- The third level has 2 patrollers together, you can Ambush one then run and come back for the other. Or just bypass them and get to the 4th floor.

- Kraven, the named elite, is here. Put yourself directly behind him and walk up to him and Sap him. If successful he will hit you with 'Touch of Zanzil' then become dazed, if not run away and try again. If you bring a friend along, they can pull Kraven and just jump down the tower and run away while you open the chest. If you brought a whole group, then you can just kill him I guess.

- Once he has been Sapped, use the key to unlock the chest in front of you, take the Journal and get out of there. NOTE: Some people are unable to unlock the chest with the key. It can be lockpicked instead. But you still need the key to turn in to Matthias Shaw.

- Return to Matthias Shaw, he will instruct you in the ways of poison. However, now you are afflicted by the Touch of Zanzil and must be cured. You can do the quest which is pretty easy, or just get someone to cast Cure Poison or use an Anti-Venom (First Aid item).

Curing the Touch of Zanzil

Head downstairs and talk to Doc Mixilpixil, who diagnoses you and sends you out for 4 items to cure you.

- Simple Wildflowers can be purchased at the flower shop along the canal for 2 silver, located between the Trade District and Old Town.
- Leaded Vials can be purchased at the Shady Dealer right by Matthias Shaw.
- The Chartreuse Silk is lying on the floor of an empty shop along the canal called 'The Finest Thread', between the Trade District and The Cathedral Square.
- The Bronze Tube can be occasionally purchased at the Engineering Supplier in the Dwarven District. Can also be crafted by Engineers.

- Return these items to Doc Mixilpixil, he will cure you.
