Static Field

Template:LS A devastating spell of limited range, Static Field instantly removes a good portion of the health of nearby enemies. Thusly injured, enemies are easy prey to the follow-up attacks of the Sorceress or her party members. Subsequent castings do less damage, but in combination with other spells or a decisive melee attack, a Sorceress can rely on this powerful ability to quickly dispatch even the strongest of foes.

• Reduces current life of targets within radius by 25% when cast, unless target already has <33% life in Nightmare or <50% life in Hell. Lightning Damage animation won't display on targets to which Static Field can no longer be applied.
• Damage is a percentage of final life, not base life.
• +% Lightning Skill Damage from Lightning Mastery and items does not increase damage.
• Target Lightning Resist reduces damage: LR 50% halves damage, and thus current life is reduced by just 12.5%.
• Lower Resist and Conviction can reduce LR >0% and prevent it from decreasing damage. However, LR <0% won't increase damage.
• -% Enemy Lightning Resistance is applied after Lower Resist and Conviction and LR <0% will increase damage: applying -100% ELR to LR 0% will result in LR -100% and double damage, reducing current life by 50%.
