Jini's current Talent build: I'm working toward the Shadow Priest build until mid 50s or perhaps even past 60. At that point it becomes a level by level decision to respec towards more Discipline and/or more Holy.

Level 58 - No particular goal at the moment. I plan on filling out Mental Strength by level 60, I've now got 3 points. Then think about respeccing.

At level 55 I got all 5 points of Mental Agility

At level 50 I've got Imp PW:F.

At level 48 I've got Imp PW:S. This Talent really makes PW:S a lifesaver but also can encourage a mana hogging style of gameplay.

Picked up Shadowform at level 40.

I took Improved Fade and Silence at the expense of Darkness.

At level 30 I got Vampiric Embrace. This stacks very nicely with the Priest shadow DoTs.

Discipline Talents (18 points)

Unbreakable Will - 5/5 points
Increases your chance to resist Stun, Fear, and Silence effects by 6%.
Only choice for early spending in discipline. Gets me up the tree.

Improved Power Word: Shield - 3/3 points

I took this before Imp PF:Fort in order to increase survivability in shadowform. It does that at the cost of more downtime due to increased mana usage. Of course I'm not running for my corpse as much so it is probably a net positive.

Improved Power Word: Fortitude - 2/2 points
Increases the effect of your Power Word: Fortitude spell by 30%.
More HP is good for everyone for everything.

Mental Agility - 5/5 points
Reduces the mana cost of your instant cast spells by 4%.
Cheaper Instants - PW:S, Buffs, Renew, Mind Flay, SW:P, etc.

Mental Strength - 3/5 points
Increases Total Mana by 6%.
More Mana is good.

Holy Talents (0 points

None.

Shadow Talents (31 points)

Spirit Tap - 5/5 points
Gives you a 100% chance to gain a 100% bonus to your Spirit after killing a target. For the duration, your Mana may regenerate at a 50% rate while casting. Lasts 15 seconds.
This is a great talent so far. When soloing it greatly decreases my downtime. In groups it help to keep my Mana topped off.

Blackout - 5/5 points
Gives your Shadow damage spells a 10% chance to stun the target for 3 seconds.
This is awesome in PvE and PvP, more usefull than spirit tap, but in the beginning of the game you will be casting holy smite more than shadow stuff.

Improved Shadow Word: Pain - 2/2 points
Increases the duration of your Shadow Word: Pain spell by 6 seconds.
Make the most commonly casted damage spell more effecient, excellent.

Shadow Focus - 2/5 points
Reduces your target's chance to resist your Shadow spells by 4%.
This may have been a waste. Who knows.

Mind Flay - 1/1 point
Assault the target's mind with Shadow energy, causing 75 damage over 3 seconds and slowing the target to 50% of their movement speed.
This is your damage spell. Spammable, excellent DpM, decent DpS.

Improved Psychic Scream - 2/2 points
Reduces the cooldown of your Psychic Scream ability by 4 seconds.
Usefull spell, cooldown isn't much but it is nice. Requirement for Silence as well.

Improved Fade - 2/2 points
Increases the duration of your Fade ability by 10 seconds.
This allows for 20 second long Fades with only 10 more seconds and the Fade cooldown is complete until the next Fade can be cast.

Shadow Reach - 3/3 points
Increases the range of your Shadow damage spells by 20%.
Another not so great choice. These points could also have gone into Improved Fade.

Vampiric Embrace - 1/1 point
Afflicts your target with Shadow energy that causes all party members to be healed for 20% of any Shadow damage you deal for 60 seconds.
This adds to my healing capability. For virtually all but boss mobs this is all I need, maybe a Renew from time to time.

Shadow Weaving - 5/5 points
Your Shadow damage spells have a 100% chance to cause your target to be vulnerable to Shadow damage. This vulnerability increases the Shadow damage dealt to your target by 3% and lasts 15 seconds. Stacks up to 5 times.
This is a great Talent. Matched with Imp SW:Pain, Mind Flay and Vampiric Embrace I do more damage and heal at the same time.

Silence - 1/1 point
Silences the target, preventing them from casting spells for 5 seconds.
This is a great way to pull casters. Since they can't cast they run into melee range.

Darkness - 1/5 points
Increases your Shadow spell damage by 2%.
More damage is nice and it gets me to Shadowform.

Shadowform - 1/1 point
Assume a shadowform, increasing your Shadow damage by 15% and reducing physical damage done to you by 15%. Cannot cast Holy spells in this form.
It takes a whole new mindset to use efficiently. I was more of a Renew/toss a small heal time to time kind of priest while whacking with a big stick. Use of this talent encourages all out nuking with PW:S and Mind Flay.

Dream Drops

Items will matter a good bit less to a Priest than they did to a Rogue so this section is not that important. At this point its for fun more than anything.

  • Devout Mantle - AC: 64 Int: 21 Spi: 9 Sta: 4 - Drops from Solakar Flamewreath in Blackrock ?Spire?.
  • Mooncloth Shoulders - 65 Armor, +17 Int, +11 Spi, +9 Sta - These would be nice to hold me over till dreadmist or devout.

  • Cloak of the Cosmos - 7 Sta, 11 Int, Equip: Increases healing done by spells and effects by up to 24 - Immol'thar in Dire Maul
  • Chromatic Cloak - Pretty tough to make crafted item. Pattern from DM.
